Top Down Bottom Up Shades
Top down bottom up shades are popular because of there
versatility, functionality and attractiveness.
When you want to be able to have control over the light entering your home as well as
increase the amount of privacy you have inside, top down bottom up shades are even more effective than fabric roller shades. This is very important considering
that the two main purposes of blinds are privacy and limiting the amount of light that enters through the
windows. In these blinds it works very well because you can block one or the other or both – but you have
the choice.
Top down bottom up shades work the same way as having fabric roller shades coming from
both directions. These features make it easy to stop the direct light from coming in from the sun above by
pulling the blind down from the top of the window while leaving the lower half uncovered, or you can increase
privacy but allow the light to continue to flow into the room by pulling the blind up from the bottom of the
window. Or, if you want to block all of the light and maximize your privacy, you can close both
halves.
Top Down Bottom Up Shades Even Come Cordless
Some varieties of top down bottom up shades also have the added feature of being
cordless. Though this may or may not appeal to you, families with young children should make a priority of
choosing the cordless option as it is important for child safety. Furthermore, many people do enjoy the clean
look of having blinds without a string hanging down the sides of the window.
To operate the cordless variety, you will generally simply need to push or pull the rails
of the top down bottom up shades. This allows you to manually set the blinds into the position that will give
you the privacy or blockage of light that you seek. This does mean, though, that if you will be choosing a
cordless option, you need to be able to reach as far up as you will want your blind to go. If you have very
high or hard to reach windows, then the corded variety may be the only practical option for you.
If you have corded top up bottom down shades, then you will have a string for
each blind. The one on the right is generally for the bottom blind while the one on the left will be for the
top half. If you want to close both of them at the same time, it is usually most effective to fully close the
top half before the bottom portion.
Top down bottom up shades are most popular for bedrooms and bathrooms, however, they are
also becoming increasingly popular in living rooms and other rooms where light and privacy combinations are
wanted.
